Athletics and extracurricular activities play an indispensable role in developing teamwork, resilience, and leadership among our youth. When Oak Bay High School underwent its landmark redevelopment, the Oak Bay Firefighters Charitable Foundation stepped forward to ensure student athletes had access to first-class sporting facilities.

Our foundation proudly funded the state-of-the-art electronic gymnasium scoreboard, a permanent investment that enhances the athletic experience for hundreds of students each school year.

Impact on the School & Neighbourhood

• Varsity & Intramural Athletics: The scoreboard serves the Oak Bay High Bays basketball, volleyball, and multi-sport tournaments, providing a professional game-day atmosphere.
• Community & Youth Leagues: The gymnasium hosts regional youth sports leagues, charity exhibition games, and community events year-round, benefiting the wider South Vancouver Island athletic community.
• Fostering School Pride: Providing a central focal point during packed school spirit assemblies, championship games, and alumni gatherings.
