BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund
Dedicated Support for Burn Survivors & Families
The connection between professional firefighters and burn care runs deep. Firefighters witness firsthand the devastating impact of burn injuries, not only in the acute moments of an emergency, but throughout the long and challenging journey of rehabilitation and emotional recovery.
Each year, the Oak Bay Firefighters Charitable Foundation proudly supports the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund through financial contributions, volunteer hours, and community fundraising drives.
Key Initiatives Supported
- Bright Nights Campaign: Our active members volunteer and fundraise for the signature annual event that raises vital operating dollars for survivor programs and burn unit facilities across British Columbia.
- Burn Camp for Kids: Helping sponsor young burn survivors to attend annual summer Burn Camps, where children bond with peers, build lifelong self-esteem, and engage in outdoor adventures in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
- Medical Equipment & Research: Contributing toward advanced surgical and wound care equipment for specialized burn centres, as well as ongoing clinical training for hospital care teams.
- Survivor Accommodation: Supporting the Burn Fund Centre in Vancouver, which offers free, comfortable accommodation for patients and their families travelling from Vancouver Island for specialized burn treatment.
How Your Support Helps
